Research Group

The Research Group met on two occasions during 2010, both in The Crown at Little Staughton. Thanks to Sue Jarrett (who, along with her husband Dave, is by far and away our most active researcher) the CNHS website now offers transcribed censuses for Colmworth, Bolnhurst and Keysoe from 1841 to 1901 and Little Staughton and Ravensden for 1851 to 1901. The website also contains details of the burials in Colmworth between 1813 and 2007 and a definitive listing of the graves in Colmworth churchyard.

Chris Walker has presented his talk ‘Sutton Park and the Burgoynes’ on another three occasions. Jeanne Rainford continues her researches into Colmworth School. Sue and Dave again masterminded the Eaton Socon May Day Local History Exhibition and lead a guided walk around the village. The CNHS had a stand at Ravensden’s Summer Fete which generated a good deal of interest (and some research on the Wythes family of Ravensden).

The CNHS website continues to be further improved and is our main channel for distributing information to the outside world (with over 13700 viewings to date). New members of the group are always welcomed. Please contact Chris Walker on 01234-771536 or chris@seiswise.com.
